Mandelbaum Salsburg’s intellectual property practice group coordinates with the firm’s corporate group to provide counseling to our clients in transactions that involve intellectual property. Whether dealing with the day-to-day operations of a business, or in connection with specific transactions, we often prepare and negotiate licensing and royalty agreements and assignments, consent and co-existence agreements, confidentiality agreements, restrictive covenants and work for hire agreements for our clients. Our lawyers also advise and assist our clients with intellectual property due diligence exercises as well as intellectual property inventories to identify and protect existing intellectual property assets and potential assets that may still be in the research and development phase.
We assist clients in obtaining registration for their trademarks, trade names, trade dress and other depictions as well as protecting their original works of authorship and other published material through copyright registration. To determine if trade names and trademarks are available to our clients for their use and registration, we conduct trademark searches. We further represent our clients in matters involving domain name protection, e-commerce, web site development, internet law, and software licensing, and we address and investigate potential problems and negotiate and/or otherwise take action for our clients to assert or defend their intellectual property rights. Counsel to our firm also provides our clients with patent prosecution and defense capability.
