Ms. DaSilva is counsel to the firm, concentrating in the areas of environmental transactions and litigation. Ms. DaSilva joins Mandelbaum Salsburg after several years of handling environmental compliance and corporate transactional and commercial, employment (ERISA) and environmental litigation matters for Exxon Mobil Corporation, among other major corporations. Ms. DaSilva's environmental experience includes the successful negotiation of complex remediation, development and allocation agreements and representing clients in complex multi-party environmental litigations. In addition, she frequently trained environmental consultants on the legal implications of reporting. Ms. DaSilva's practice also includes negotiation with environmental regulatory agencies in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut on all aspects of environmental issues. Ms. DaSilva has extensive litigation experience in both federal and state courts in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

Prior to that, Ms. DaSilva was in public service acting as General Counsel to the Essex County (NJ) Improvement Authority. As General Counsel, Ms. DaSilva handled environmental and contract issues related to major development projects in Essex County. For ten years after law school, Ms. DaSilva practiced commercial litigation at a major New Jersey law firm, where she represented numerous Fortune 500 companies.

Ms. DaSilva has long been an active advocate of the community. She was the legal coordinator for the Jersey Battered Women's Legal Advocacy Project, where she was responsible for coordinating and implementing legal training and supervision of over 90 volunteer attorneys for the pro bono representation of battered women.

Ms. DaSilva received her B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. In 1990, she earned her J.D. from Rutgers University - School of Law, where she was the recipient of the prestigious Chief Justice Richard J. Hughes Award.
