Ms. Carhart is an associate specializing in taxation, estate planning, tax controversy, and business transactions. Specifically, she focuses her practice on federal and state income taxation of individuals and corporate entities. Ms. Carhart regularly advises owners of family-owned and closely held businesses, limited liability companies, partnerships and corporations on strategic tax planning, choice of entity, mergers and acquisitions, general commercial relationships, complex buy-sell arrangements and succession planning. Ms. Carhart also assists in structuring health care businesses, transactions and related litigation.
Ms. Carhart is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the State University of New York at Albany. Ms. Carhart graduated magna cum laude from Whittier Law School, in Costa Mesa, California, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Whittier Law Review. While in California, Ms. Carhart served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Justice William F. Rylaarsdam of the California Court of Appeal. She holds an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
