Alona's practice is concentrated in all aspects of Family Law including divorce, custody disputes, domestic violence actions, pre and post property settlement agreements, adoptions, and the Domestic Partnership Act. Alona also handles complex business and commercial litigation. Alona also does appeallate work in all of the above areas and recently had the Appellate Division reverse a Trial court decision invovling complex real estate issues.
Alona has successfully represented individuals and corporations in trials, Orders to Show Cause, Pendente Lite applications and appeals. Her success rate is settling matrimonial matters has been laudatory and when a fair settlement cannot be achieved, she is prepared to try the case. As a result, she is very highly regarded by her peers as well as her clients and the judges she appears before.
She received her B.A. degree from Hofstra University and her J.D. from New York Law School. She was admitted to practice in state and federal courts in New York and New Jersey. Alona began her career in New Jersey with Ulrichsen, Amarel & Eory in Mercer County before moving to Essex County to join the Firm.
Alona was born in Kharkov, Ukraine and is fluent in Russian. She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Matrimonial Inns of Court.
